[Webinar OpenFloor] Advanced modelling for insurance pricing

On behalf of Mikołaj Skraburski, the Board of the Polish Actuarial Association has the pleasure to invite its members and members of the CEE actuarial associations to its complimentary „Open Floor” series webinar, „Advanced modelling for insurance pricing.”

About the seminar: 

Machine Learning is quickly becoming a standard in the insurance industry rather than a feared black-box. This webinar will focus on comparing past and future modeling approaches by contrasting Generalized Linear Models with a Gradient Boosting Method and will include the following:

  • a theoretical introduction to both GLM & GBM methods enriched by a live demo on the Quantee platform
  • a practical comparison of the two modelling approaches including advantages and drawbacks of each method

About the speaker: 

Mikołaj Skraburski is a nearly-qualified IFoA actuary with over 5 years of actuarial experience gathered from leading international insurance and consulting companies across UK, Irish, German & Polish markets. His professional interests focus on Data Science applications within the financial sector, and is passionate about using Machine Learning for insurance pricing.

Since 2022, Mikołaj has been part of Quantee’s group of Pricing Experts, supporting the global expansion of the Polish insurtech. His main day-to-day duties involve pre-sales activities such as Proof of Concept and demos. Mikołaj is an active member of the actuarial industry in which he is frequently seen conducting professional webinars and more recently publishing articles.

Duration: the webinar is expected to last 60-70 minutes, including the Q&A.
