Dear Actuarial Colleagues,

As we approach the much-anticipated 25th Actuarial Summer Seminar, we are excited to share the detailed program for the event (please see the attached file).

Here is a brief overview of what’s in store for you.

Day 1 – June 29th: Social Activities & Networking

Our first day will focus on social activities and networking. We’ll kick things off with a scenic joy-ride along the river Emajõgi aboard an archaic barge/sailboat (https://lodi.ee/ships). On the boat we will have uniquely good food by some of the most talented Estonian BBQ-chefs. We will enjoy the scenery of Tartu and surrounding landscape, have luxuriously decorated buffet tables on the boat and surprises. This boat trip will be a perfect opportunity to mingle, refresh the contacts with old friends and get aquaited with the new colleagues. Afterwards we’ll relax in the sauna and participate in a thrilling night orienteering at the cozy village of Mäeotsa,  where we will stay overnight.

Day 2 – June 30th: Insightful Seminars
The second day will begin with a refreshing morning yoga session, followed by a series of insightful seminars. We’re thrilled to announce the following speakers and topics:

• Health insurance pricing use case in Akur8 – Jan Küthe, Acur 8
• The power of personality in predicting and explaining important life outcomes – Uku Vainik, Tartu University
• Statistical dilemmas in personalized risk prediction: the Estonian Biobank example – Krista Fisher, Tartu University

Last, but not at all the least…. This year Actuarial Summer Seminar is a warm-up to a unique educational event, which will take place in Tartu right after our summer days. All actuaries are most welcome to join the 28^th International Congress on Insurance: Mathematics and Economics – a well known superb event, which comes to this part of Europe for the first time in its history.
